Vehicle Management in LifeAxis
A practical example showing how Identity and Finance pillars connect to give you complete control over vehicle ownership.
Overview
LifeAxis is designed around interconnected pillars that reflect how real life works - not isolated tools, but a single system that adapts to the way people actually manage their lives.
This case study walks through a common scenario: adding and managing a vehicle. It shows how the Identity and Finance pillars are used together.
Creating the Vehicle
Start by creating a Vehicle within LifeAxis.
Vehicles are managed through the Finance pillar, where ownership, costs, and vehicle-related commitments are captured in one place.
The customer creates a new vehicle by entering:
- Registration details
- Vehicle type and usage
- Ownership status
From that point, the vehicle becomes a central reference that other records can link back to.
Why this matters:
- • Vehicles are treated as real financial commitments
- • Costs, insurance, and obligations stay connected
- • Reduces fragmentation across tools
Managing Drivers & Driving Records
Once the vehicle exists, the customer links people to it using the Identity pillar.
Examples include:
- Primary driver
- Additional drivers (partner, family member)
- Business vs personal usage drivers
Each person in Identity can store:
- Driving licence details
- Driving record (e.g. endorsements, expiry dates)
- Relationship to the vehicle
The vehicle references these identities instead of duplicating data.
Benefits:
- • Drivers are managed once, reused everywhere
- • Driving records stay with the person
- • Easy to update when circumstances change
Vehicle Compliance & Maintenance
LifeAxis manages ongoing vehicle obligations through the Finance pillar.
The customer can track:
- MOT history and expiry
- Vehicle tax status
- Service history and upcoming services
Each record is linked directly to the vehicle and carries cost information where relevant.
What this unlocks:
- • A clear record of past and upcoming obligations
- • Reduced risk of missed compliance tasks
- • Vehicle costs visible alongside other life expenses
Creating Vehicle Insurance
Insurance is created as a financial product, linked directly to both the vehicle and the people who drive it.
When adding insurance, the customer:
- Selects the vehicle
- Selects covered drivers from Identity
- Enters policy details such as cost and renewal date
LifeAxis then:
- Links the policy to the relevant drivers (Identity)
- Tracks the policy and provider (Finance)
- Creates a bill for the insurance policy
Why this is powerful:
- • Insurance is no longer floating in isolation
- • You can see which vehicle and which drivers are covered
- • Renewal and cost tracking become automatic
Creating Bills & Ongoing Payments
Insurance policies and vehicle-related costs can generate bills.
Bills may include:
- Monthly or annual insurance payments
- MOT or service costs
- Road tax payments
Each bill is linked to the vehicle and appears in the customer's financial overview.
Outcome:
- • Vehicle costs roll into monthly planning
- • Fewer missed or late payments
- • Full visibility of true vehicle ownership cost
How the Pillars Interlink
| Pillar | Role in the Vehicle Journey |
|---|---|
| Identity | Manages drivers, licences, and personal records |
| Finance | Manages vehicles, insurance, bills, and costs |
LifeAxis focuses on keeping people and money clearly connected. Vehicles act as shared reference points between Identity and Finance, ensuring that ownership, responsibility, and cost are always visible and easy to manage.
