Connect ChatGPT to your LifeAxis account and you can ask it about your day and your finances, or have it add a task for you, without leaving the chat. You decide whether to connect, you approve it on a LifeAxis page, and you can disconnect at any time.
Connecting ChatGPT is in early access, so it may not be available on your account yet.
What ChatGPT can do
Once connected, ChatGPT can:
- Tell you your net worth, with totals for each category: bank accounts, investments, properties, vehicles, other assets, credit cards, mortgages and vehicle finance. It sees the totals only, not individual accounts or account numbers.
- Tell you what's on today: tasks scheduled or due today, in time order with your Frog first, plus any overdue tasks to catch up on.
- List your tasks, for example everything due before the end of the month, or tasks you've completed.
- Add a task to your Inbox, with a due date and priority if you give one.
It can't change or delete anything that's already in LifeAxis, and it only ever sees your own data, never anything shared with you.
What you need
- A paid ChatGPT plan (Plus or above). The free plan can't connect to apps like LifeAxis.
- ChatGPT on the web (chatgpt.com) to set up the connection. Once it's set up, you can use it in your chats.
Connecting
- 1In LifeAxis, go to Settings > Integrations and copy the ChatGPT server address from the ChatGPT card.
- 2In ChatGPT on the web, open Apps from your settings or the sidebar. It's sometimes called Plugins or Connectors. Choose Add, then Add custom MCP server.
- 3Name it LifeAxis, paste the server address, and choose OAuth if it asks how to sign in. Leave any client ID and secret fields empty.
- 4ChatGPT opens a LifeAxis page. Sign in if asked, check that it's ChatGPT asking and what it will be able to do, then choose Allow.
- 5Start a new chat, turn on LifeAxis from the + menu, and ask away.
If you can't see Add custom MCP server, look for Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings and switch it on. ChatGPT's menus change from time to time, so the names may differ slightly.
Things to ask
- "What's my net worth?"
- "What's on today?"
- "Which tasks are overdue?"
- "Add a task to renew the car tax next Friday, high priority."
Your data and privacy
- You approve the connection on a LifeAxis page, and ChatGPT never sees your LifeAxis password.
- When you ask ChatGPT something, LifeAxis sends it only the answer to that question: your net worth totals, or the tasks you asked about. That information then becomes part of your chat and is handled under OpenAI's terms and your ChatGPT settings.
- ChatGPT's access is checked every time it asks for something, so disconnecting takes effect straight away.
Disconnecting
Go to Settings > Integrations and choose Disconnect next to ChatGPT under Connected apps. ChatGPT loses access immediately.
To connect again later, remove LifeAxis from your apps in ChatGPT, then add it again by following the steps above.
What this doesn't do yet
- Tasks ChatGPT adds always go to your Inbox. It can't put them in a project yet.
- It can't complete, edit or reschedule tasks.
- It can't see bills, insurance, documents or the details of individual accounts, properties or vehicles.
- To stop runaway requests, ChatGPT can add up to 20 tasks an hour.
