General Assets

Build a record of everything your household owns of value. General Assets covers any possession that is not a vehicle or property: electronics, jewellery, art, collectibles, musical instruments, sports equipment, furniture, and more. Asset values feed into your net worth, and purchase and warranty details are available when you need them for insurance or a claim.

What you can track

• 🏷️ Item details: name, description, and category
• 💰 Purchase price and date: what you paid, when you bought it, and where from
• 📊 Current value: manual current value entry — used in your net worth calculation
• 📅 Warranty: warranty end date so you know what is still covered
• 👤 Ownership: assign an asset to a specific household member
• 🗑️ Disposal records: when you sell, donate, discard, or lose an item, record the date, method, price received, and who it went to

Getting started

1. 1Add an asset using the + button in the General Assets section, or ask Axel to add one for you
2. 2Enter the purchase price and current estimated value
3. 3Set the warranty end date if there is one
4. 4LifeAxis includes the current value in your net worth by default — you can turn this off per asset

Net worth

General asset values contribute to your household net worth alongside bank accounts, investment accounts, and property equity. You can toggle any individual asset in or out of the net worth calculation.

Alerts you'll see

LifeAxis surfaces a suggestion on your dashboard when:

• A warranty is approaching its expiry date
• A high-value asset has not had its value updated in over 12 months

Coming soon

• Insurance linking: link an asset to your home contents insurance policy so it appears on both records
• Valuation history: track how the value of an asset changes over time — useful for art, collectibles, and jewellery
• Document attachment: attach receipts, valuations, and certificates of authenticity from your Google Drive
• Asset portfolio summary: total value of all assets by category, useful for insurance declarations
