Your no-claims bonus (NCB) is one of the most valuable factors in getting a competitive motor insurance premium. LifeAxis stores it against your insurance policy so it is always to hand and feeds automatically into the insurance quote preparation view on your vehicle.
What is recorded
- Years NCB: the number of years of no-claims bonus accrued
- Source: where the bonus was earned — with the current insurer, with a previous insurer, from a company car, or from a fleet policy
- Protected NCB: a flag indicating whether the no-claims bonus is protected under the current policy
Where it appears
NCB details stored on a motor insurance policy are pulled into the Insurance Quote Preparation view on the linked vehicle. When you are renewing and visiting a comparison site, this information is already there — you do not need to remember the figure or dig out last year's renewal letter.
Updating after a renewal
If a claim is made and your NCB is reduced at renewal, update the years figure when you record the new policy. The renewal history on the policy keeps the old figure, so you have a record of what changed and when.
