Every role in your Work History records how you're paid, and every time that changes LifeAxis keeps the old figure rather than silently replacing it — so you build a full pay history over time instead of losing it to the next edit.
Pay and compensation
Each role records how you're paid, not just how much:
- Pay type: salaried, hourly, daily, or weekly — the form only shows the fields relevant to your pay type, so an hourly worker enters a rate and hours per week rather than an annual figure
- Gross or net: every rate is explicitly flagged so monthly and annual equivalents are calculated correctly
- Pay frequency and payment day: weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, monthly, or annually, with a payment day that adapts to the frequency (a day of the week for weekly pay, a day of the month for monthly pay)
- Pension contributions: employee and employer contribution percentages, with the combined annual amount calculated automatically
- Other allowances: any additional annual allowance (e.g. car allowance) on top of base pay
Monthly and annual pay figures are masked by default on both the compensation summary and the mobile card — tap the reveal icon to show them.
Tracking a pay change
A pay change (a review, a promotion, a change of hours, or moving from hourly to salaried) is recorded as a new dated entry rather than overwriting the previous figure, so your full pay history stays intact:
- Effective date: can be dated in the past, today, or scheduled for a future date — a future-dated change stays "Scheduled" and your current pay figures don't change until that date arrives
- Reason: an optional note for why pay changed (e.g. "Annual review", "Promotion")
- Edit and delete: entries can be corrected or removed if you make a mistake, and your current pay figures are automatically recalculated from whichever entry is now most recent
Bonuses
Ad-hoc bonuses, commission, and one-off payments are logged separately from your base pay — each with an amount, date, type (annual bonus, one-off, commission, or other), and optional notes — and shown alongside compensation changes in the same history timeline. Like compensation changes, bonus entries can be edited or deleted.
Where it appears
Compensation history and bonuses are shown as a combined timeline on the Compensation tab of each work history record, and summarised as monthly/annual pay, pension, and allowance tiles in the sidebar and on the Overview tab.
