Track your annual leave entitlement, days taken, and planned time off for each role — modelled as repeatable leave years, since allowance and carry-over rules change year to year.
Leave years
Add a leave year for each period your employer sets your allowance for (e.g. 6 April 2025 – 5 April 2026), each with its own:
- Base allocation: the number of days you're entitled to for that period
- Carried over: days manually carried over from the previous year — you confirm the figure yourself rather than LifeAxis calculating it automatically, so it never silently applies a carry-over cap or expiry rule it doesn't know about
- Bought and sold: days bought (with an optional cost note) or sold, each adjusting that leave year's total
- Total: base allocation + carried over + bought − sold, calculated automatically
Adding a leave year is always an explicit action — nothing is auto-generated on a rollover date. Previous leave years remain visible as read-only history once a newer one exists, via a year switcher, so you can compare allocations year to year.
Logging leave
Each entry records a start date, end date, number of days (including half days), and an optional description, and is automatically attributed to whichever leave year the start date falls in:
- Taken: leave that has already happened
- Planned: leave with a start date in the future — automatically moves to "Taken" once the date passes
At-a-glance summary
Total, taken, planned, and remaining days for your current leave year are shown on the Work History Overview tab and in their own Holiday section, on both desktop and mobile. If bought or sold days bring your total below what's already taken or planned, LifeAxis shows a warning rather than blocking you — a negative remaining balance is a real possible state, not necessarily a mistake.
Where it appears
Holiday tracking has its own tab on each work history record (with a leave-year switcher, breakdown, and log), a summary card on the Overview tab, and a matching summary card on the mobile Work History view.
