When a bill is due, you can mark it as paid in LifeAxis. This records the payment and creates a transaction in the bank account or credit card the bill is linked to.
Marking a bill as paid
- 1Open the bill from your Bills section or from the bills due this month view
- 2Tap Mark as paid
- 3Confirm the amount and date
- 4LifeAxis creates a transaction in the linked payment account
How transactions are created
The way the transaction is recorded depends on your linked payment account:
- Bank account: a transaction is created directly on the account
- Bank account with pot: the transaction is created on the pot, keeping your account balance accurate
- Credit card: a transaction is created against the credit card balance
Linking a payment method
Each bill can be linked to a specific bank account or credit card. This tells LifeAxis where to record the transaction when the bill is marked as paid, and gives you a clear picture of which accounts your committed outgoings are drawn from.
To link a payment method, open the bill and set the Payment account field to the relevant bank account or credit card.
Paying project-linked bills
If a bill is linked to a project, marking it as paid keeps your recurring commitment visible in that same project context.
- Useful for recurring hobby costs like club subscriptions or class fees
- Useful for fitness projects such as gym memberships, coaching, and training app subscriptions
